About the Brand

The Project
When I first started at Instructure, I recruited usability testing participants from Canvas and Bridge’s target audiences and tested the existing site. From those tests, I prioritized the action items and created a plan to enhance both the UI and UX of the website. I overhauled the navigation, consulting with internal stakeholders to get it just right—organizing it in a way that made more sense for the educational segments. Since Instructure is a global site, I consulted with individuals from APAC, EMEA, and LATAM to make sure the new navigation worked with those regions as well.
I also work on wireframing experiences for better user journey flows via an iterative process. Each new page and experience I craft, I do thorough research and competitive analysis where necessary, and follow best practices for a friction-free experience. While designing each new page or experience, I also think through the page story and user journey flow.
I’ve also worked on updating and optimizing the components on Instructure.com. By consolidating the number of components and making them into more multi-function, heavy lifting versions, authors are able to easily craft pages in minutes. This atomic system keeps visual design consistency but also gives authors the flexibility to add personality with different colors, imagery, patterns, etc.
For this project, I was tasked with incorporating the Power Of campaign into the main website. Instead of just adding the visuals, I strategized and re-structured both the Instructure Homepage and Canvas Overview pages for a smoother user journey flow. I utilized both qualitative and quantitative data to make decisions on how each page should flow for the best user journey.
